
My Story
Sati Heyer is the Founder and CEO of Heritage Homes, a nonprofit agency dedicated to supporting youth and their families across California through the most challenging times of their lives. Sati has served on the advisory committee of the California Dept. of Social Services Foster Care reform task force and the Los Angeles County Dept. of Youth Development. Sati oversees several programs and a multi-million dollar annual budget that includes substance use disorder recovery, transitional age youth housing, ECM-Enhanced Care Management and mental health treatment facilities.
Heritage is a nationally accredited 501 C 3 nonprofit organization founded in 1991 to restore hope, health and healing through sustainable, trauma-informed clinical and holistic practices that empower and strengthen youth, families and the community. Heritage is certified by DHCS and SAMHSA for Substance Use Disorder treatment for out-patient and residential recovery services and contracted with most major insurance carriers for Enhanced Care Management, Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health treatment. Heritage is also licensed and certified by State and County departments including DMH, DCFS, CDSS and DPH.
The Heritage philosophy is “Kindness and Compassion in Action” which in in bedded throughout the organizational culture. Our newest project is called the Kindness Closet funded by a generous grant from Heluna Health and provides free resources such as clothing, food, household goods and other supplies in Riverside as well as a free library and workshops that teach life skills to current and former foster youth and low-income students.
